Today is World Blood Cancer day, be part of it and make your make against blood cancer.  (Link below)

We have changed our format slightly and are finishing up all the lines and will go back and do all the colours. Exciting news, the comic roughs are finished in its entirety, we are almost there with the neats and will be giving you sneak peeks of the colour.

We are over the halfway mark.. exciting times.

Amazing Gift & M.E Awareness Week

This week is M.E awareness week.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) is a long-term (chronic), fluctuating, neurological condition that causes symptoms affecting many body systems, more commonly the nervous and immune systems. M.E. affects an estimated 250,000 people in the UK, and around 17 million people worldwide.

People with M.E. experience severe, persistent fatigue associated with post-exertional malaise, the body’s inability to recover after expending even small amounts of energy, leading to a flare-up in symptoms.

Below are some links provided by my good friend Jess Sylvie, who suffers from ME.

Open Medicine Foundation (International)

Invest in ME Research (UK)

Jess is an incredible lady, who raises a lot of awareness and fundraising for ME, while battling this horrible illness herself. Jess surprised me with a very special gift this week and i am truly honoured.

Jess hand crafted this incredible Perry Winkle bag, the knitting, stitching, everything is gorgeous. The time and dedication gone into this from Jess is outstanding. Thank you so much Jess, means the world to me.

Patreon and Website Update

Hi All

Over the last few days, we have done a lot of background on the Perry Winkle Comic website, to make it faster and more effective.

Perry Winkle is extremely image heavy and i understand it ran rather slowly for some users. This should now have improved. If you are still having problems, please do let me know, as we are now using a service.

On this note, to help cover the additional costs for the website, i have created a Patreon, if you would be interested in signing up, for as little as $1 (77p), where you can get access to sketches, works in progress etc, earlier then anyone else. Plus a chance to win a monthly original sketch.

Please do check it out and support us.   – Susie Gander Patreon

Celebration Time – Last Cancer Check Up

We are celebrating today at Perry Winkle HQ.

Today i had my very last cancer check up.  🙂

Walking into the clinic today, hugging my oncologist so tight, i’m sure he couldn’t breath !! We knew today was the day, but to hear him say it, filled us with joy. 🙂

My fears were soon squashed, when Dr P explained i have a direct phone number to the department, should i have any future concerns. So i won’t have to start from scratch again, all my notes will remain on file.

Clinically i am fine and we can now focus on the fertility side of things.

It has been a very tough 3 years, with sad times and happy times, but personally feel I have grown as an individual and it makes you realise what really is important in life.

Can I take this moment to say thank you to Chris Gander, my family and each and every single one of you for the continued support throughout this journey and supporting Perry Winkle.

I couldn’t have done it without each and every single one of you , you are all heroes xxxxx

Well guys …. we finally pinned down an official release date for the Print Edition.

We will be debuting the print edition at Nottingham Comic Con (hence Perry’s Robin Hood look), along with some prints, originals etc, with 20% of all sales going to the Bloodwise cancer charity.

Kickstarter backers will also be sent their rewards two weeks PRIOR to the date below.

Thank you so much to each and every single person who has supported us, this has been an incredible journey. A huge thank you again to Robin Jones for providing the lettering, amazing stuff.

We have met lots of incredible people, from the comic book world and such inspiring survivors.

I have loved every second of this project and Perry Winkle is very much a part of my life now. You all made that possible.

Thank You.

I have one more favour to ask, i am currently looking into the number of copies to order. If you would like to register your interest in ordering a copy of Perry Winkle, it will help give me an idea of numbers.

Please do email us at or tweet us @SusieGander, we will add you to list.
